What it is good for
Many tattoos start as a few words: a bird your grandmother loved, the boat your father fished from, a plant from home. This tool turns those words into a picture you can look at, save and share. Use it before you book a consultation, to compare ideas with a partner or a friend, or to see one idea in two styles, such as Fine line and Traditional. The design comes as flash on plain white paper, the way tattoo artists draw it.
Tips for describing your tattoo
Name the main subject first, then what it is doing and what is around it: "a fox sleeping in ferns" gives a clearer design than "a fox". Add one or two details that matter to you, such as a flower, a season or an object, and leave out the rest: one clear sentence works better than a long list. Leave the colors to the Ink choice and the size and form to Shape, which come after the style. Write exact words only if you want lettering in the design.
What it does not do
The design is a picture to take to your tattoo artist, not a finished tattoo. It is made by AI, so details may differ from what you pictured: change your words or try another style until it feels right. It does not tattoo you, predict how a tattoo heals or fades on your skin, or give medical advice. A tattoo artist will usually redraw it to fit your body and their own style.
Questions and answers
More answers in HelpCan AI design a tattoo from my own idea?
Yes. Describe your tattoo in a sentence, pick a style, the ink and the shape, and Tattoonic draws it as a tattoo design on white paper.
Can I take the design to my tattoo artist?
Yes, that is what it is for. Save or share the image and show it at your consultation: most artists redraw a reference to fit your body and their style.
Can I describe my tattoo in another language?
Yes. Write your idea in your own language: the tool reads it as a description of the design.
Is the AI tattoo generator free?
The free plan includes 3 designs a day across all tools, with a small watermark, and Pro includes 50 with no watermark. Trying the same idea in a new style counts as another design.
